EVERYGEN HOSTING THE FUTURE GENERATIONS COMMISSIONER   

In April 2023, EveryGen group at Griffith University’s Policy Innovation Hub is hosting a visit of the world’s first Commissioner for Future Generations from Wales, Sophie Howe. Howe, who has just completed her sixyear term, is coming to Australia to share her insights and speak about her legacy.

Facilitated by the Next Generation Foundation and joined by the Australian Youth Climate Coalition, this panel will discuss ways to ensure funding decisions made today are fit for the future. This event is taking place Thursday 20 April from 3:00 – 5:00 pm AEST.

The rights of future generations: Lessons from Wales

Wales was the first country to pass a Well-being of Future Generations Act in 2015. The Act has demanded long-term solutions to the country’s biggest challenges to improve the country’s social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being.
